PSP to buy OR not!

Yeah, I've read that Sony does not plan on making UMD disc burners, which is great from thier big business point of view because it'll stem further PSP game/movie pirating, but sucks for honest people wanting to burn movies or backup games that are legit.

I'm think you should wait a little, I've heard that a newer tweaked version will come out that has more power, supposedly.

You should defentially get a psp. they are comeing out with new hacks for it all the time so eventually youll still be able to play hackable games and or movies. i personaly dont buy any games every game i get is from online.

i'd wait till more games come out or the cost drops slightly. but if blowing 250 on a handheld which could get damaged or stolen more power to you.

I have one and you I recommend it :top: It's fantastic. The graphics are the same than ps2 (a little worse). If you are worried for the 2.00 firmware, you can downgrade with a aplication that it pass to 1.5 version. You can execute emulators and other. :biggrin:

If you travel frequently and intend to play lots of games to entertain yourself that why not? PSP is perfect companion. For me, I travel frequently but on rather short journeys that don't take more than 1 hour usually and I prefer to play the games on my mobilephone instead since psp games would require so much more gaming time to complete each game.

If you can wait until after E3 2006, they're going to be quite a few good original games being released for the PSP.

I finally got one. Downgraded to 1.5 without any problem.
Games are pretty good for a handheld console and it plays movies like a portable dvd player (with half sized screen ^^ but it still great)
Lots of appz can encode .avi to .MP4 PSP compatible files.

Sure it still a little bit expensive but some people would buy a cell phone that is two times more expensive just because it can takes pictures and plays low low low quality movie captures on a 2 inches screen!!!

true, i guess if you were really tight on money then just wait awhile until it does go in the 150-200 range, but the psp's just got so many systems in one and it looks like the possibilities could be endless with all the homebrew proggies that peoples are making...

i had that thought as well! i believe not because i always liked to play my ps2 games on that big TV to enjoy those cool graphix, thats the only reason i didnt buy it

I've got one, and it's really worth. With various add-on devices in the future, function of PSP would be more powerful.
I've made my PSP a mp3 and movie player.

PSP is fantastic. A bit expensive yes, but you can find it with 30%-50% discount if you surf on eBay and buy a 2nd hand one in great condition.

same here, not worth the cost.

you know, sony made a japanese to english translator for the PSP. could you imagine using that in a forign country to ask for directions, only to have the guy you used it to get directions from return your question with a cross to the face and then run off with your PSP. shit like that happens when you carry around pricy electronics, bad move on Sonys part.

Personally, i have one and i love it. But remeber that when you buy a psp you will want to buy a memory stick and more expensive it will be. BTW, does anyone knows how much DATEL 4GB HDD for psp costs?
