Longhorn's most useful feature "leaked "as XP tweak

Guys, after editting your registry, you need to remember to reboot to see the difference. Also, if you system is already well tweaked, you would barely see any significant difference with this setting. However, if you left your computer settings to the factory defaults, this tweak will probably give you a major boost.

der neue os heissen. Ist schon ne beta verfugbar. aber nur fur registrierte user von microsoft.

I have already editted my registry to test out this feature a couple of days back and it really shortened the winxp bootup time and my pc boots up in about 2 sec. Note that I use the word bootup and not startup as there is where the difference lies in.When you apply the registry changes, winxp doesn't load quite a number of stuff (program settings, drivers not required for booting, etc...) during the bootup phase where you see the winxp logo flashing. You get to the login screen really quickly and that is where the slow down will occur. Once you login, you will notice that your winxp loading time becomes a lot slower and the harddisk is reading significantly more often than before because now, winxp has to load all those settings and drivers which were not loaded during the bootup phase. Overall, it will seem as though there is no effect with the registry patch. Faster bootup but slower startup = back to square 1.
