RIAA Cites Campus Anti-Piracy Success
At one point earlier this year, Ohio University was a P2P free-for-all. A bastion of alleged copyright infringement, Ohio University was the primary focus of the RIAA's "prelawsuit" letter campaign. Between 2006 and February of 2007, Ohio University managed to accumulate 1,287 prelawsuit letters, which required the university to hand over the personal identities of alleged P2P pirates. From there, the students (or possibly faculty) would be given the opportunity to settle at a discount of face the RIAA in court.
