anyone seen this yet / heard about it? wanted to know if it was worth watching, i havn't bought a movie ticket in two years i might have to go see this one though~

ya, the lead went to the same chick from crouching tiger and hidden dragon, she's chinese, her name is Zhang Ziyi. Seems many aren't too happy about it, but from what i've read, seems like she may played the part well.

as long as it isn't dubbed i don't care what they speak ~ i can't stand dubs. but yea it would be better if they did japanese lang originally. then again this is a hollywood movie we're talking about

this movie got terrible reviews but i enjoy watching films with japanese/chinese characters.

I saw a dvdsnr of it over the weekend, not worth paying to see IMO. It was more/less a tv sitcom drama in terms of quality. Only with an asian themed storyline. But it’s hardly anything to get offended over, Hard Harbor with Ben Afflek was far worse. I've never seen so much rasist remarks during a movie, from movie viewers before that turd.

btw most of the Chinese actors/actresses did a poor job pronouncing Japanese words. So much of it was garbled rubbish. I could understand what they were saying clearly, but it greatly annoyed me. For those who do not know any Japanese this won’t be a problem thou.

yuck eh, i'll stick to reading the book then. the only bad lang words that don't bother me asian-wise are thai and cantonese. maybe i'll see it when the retail dvd comes out then and just DL it

They are more like show girls than prostitutes, I think.

i'm about 1/5 of the way through the book atm, i can't even begin to imagine how the movie could even compare!
