Is there anybody who use mirc for download?

i used sysreset script, but i can't seem to connect to anyone through DCC chat. i 'ctcp' them but the connection could not be established, i'm not using any firewall/router.. anyone knows why?

off hand i cant remember where the settings are excactly, but got to mirc options and look for the settings for "accepts" and set it to accept from anyone. You may have to do this within the script settings too, as I had to do this with xdccklipper before I could dl properly. Although sometimes the bots are crap and it is their fault you cant connect.

i tried the accept options already, but i still cannot connect to anyone. is there anyway you could jog your memory and give me the exact settings?

thanks

I was using IRC a few years back, but it can be quite a hassle sometimes... maybe I'll check out ircspy.

The only thing i found it usefull for, it was for downloading cracks and serials
otherwise it's pretty useless

yes it is a pain in the lumps if a file is so rare maybe ther is a good reason for it .
as far as ill go for rare files is emule
the rest whit torrent cliant
mirc is to mach for usualy to less

i find irc very useful, for few 0 day releases or popular releases, best part is i dont have to bother abt share ratio so that makes it easier.
as someone already suggested xdcc klipper is a good plugin to use with mirc, and use packetnews.com to search the stuff. make sure to check bot speed and no. of bots with the files you want, you dont want to connect to a slow bot neither you want a bot to disappear in the middle of download.
if anyone knows any script that can help with multiple source download on irc please let us know.
