GeForce 8600gt shows 512mb instead of 256mb?

Hey,

I have a new Leadtek Geforce 8600gt card. The thing is, the card has 256MB in at but windows shows it has 512mb.
Few games I play stuck in middle and crush.. I suspect maybe because of this?

Anyway, what can cause this? I have installed the latest nvidia drivers and still the same.

And where does your Win. show the amount of GRAM? (XP or Vista?)

its not a problem, some 8600 GTs come with 256 GDDR3 RAM, and some with 512 GDDR2 RAM. There is a lot of debate over which is better, but its definitely not a problem!!!!
The crash may be due to some other issues.

EDIT:
post your OS, video driver version and other details. That may help.
