Sony strikes again!

It’s stupid moves like these that will loose the format war for Sony. Sony has a track record of doing shortsighted stuff like this.
It’s not always the superior product that wins consumer market share.

Its BETA all over again. What is SONY thinking!?

ah it's not that it can't play blu-ray , you just need to have an hdcp capable gfx card or the right software(and i think getting a software to decode it ain't going to be too hard on the internet :P )

So, correct me if I’m wrong. In order to watch Blu-Ray movies on my PC, I need the following:

1. A new Blu-Ray drive.
2. A new HDCP capable graphics card.
3. A new HDCP capable monitor.
4. Wads of cash to pay for the previous 3 items.

DRM sucks! :baeh:

no, it just can't play blu ray. at least sony's.
the other one i think samsung's plays their blu ray commercial discs just fine. sony just really fucked up.

both formats are sucking, HD-DVD couldn't play due to their own DRM last year.

sony?

i'm hoping sony kills it but its looking like they are heading for trouble.
