Doom 4 - beginning of another era in pc graphics?

hi,

now that doom 4 has been announced (Doom 4 - Doom Wiki)
speculations are high that it will be the harbinger of a new era in pc graphics. what do you think? Personally speaking, i HATED doom 3.. and although it did bring some bum mapping & stuff, overall FEEL of the game was bad. Anyone of you played Doom3?

I liked Doom 3 and the expansion. Being so dark the game was a little hard on the eyes but for its time I thought it was pretty good. I'm really looking forward to Doom 4.

Doom III sucked big time!
Yeah, sure, the graphics we're really cool and all, but the gaming experience just sucked. Doom 1, for it's era, was much better.

Doom 3 surely did NOT suck ... It's a great game with a good engine for the game itself ... I mean that it needed a lot of modifications to get it working with huge outdoor levels, for example ... but all in all, the game was a gread id Software game once again ... It was (at least at the beginning) shocking, great scriptings, unbelievable graphics and cool sounds!

Doom 1 was huge!!!!

everyone is trying to do better graphics now, cant they come up with creative ideas and better gameplay techniques instead? i seriously need to see some new kick ass game like gta was in its time..

i hope they change the type of playing, i mean, diferent type of missions, like HL2 for example, missions is always different
cuz doom 3 is borring... always doing the same thing...

i just hopes that it will be able to compete with the grafics and physics of crysis warhead

Doom 3 was pretty taxing on the system when it came out. Hope this is not as taxing as that was also lol DOOM 3 shared the **** out of me. Great game BTW, hope it will be as scary as it was.

doom always was inovative, always bringing new things to pc games in general. i have no doubt whatso ever that the fourth installment will not be good. cant wait for it
